On the road to Machu Picchu a house is being built. The adobe bricks are made from mud and straw. They are dried for two weeks before being used.
Inca water system, channeling it through the village. Inca stonework is plainly seen with the inward sloping wall. See how good the Kodak 4330 is, it was dusk.
Machu Picchu main square.
Machu Picchu, the water system in evidence again.
Machu Picchu general view.
The train station at the expensive touristy town of Aguas Calientes, at the base of Machu Picchu. Those not hiking the Inca trail have to take the train, there is no road. The four lads with an attitude are Peruvian tourists.
The hot springs at Aguas Calientes.
The road block is a demo by local people fighting for a fair social deal. The poorer Latin Americans know how to demonstrate. But unfortunately they don’t know how to get involved politically, that is to lobby.
